During the weeks after the Thomas Fire I felt traumatized and creatively disconnected. My easel was empty for weeks partly because my health continued to be impacted by the smoke and ash, making meditation difficult at best. When I least expected it, came a small meditation with an image of a beautiful blue entity complete with something like wings and/or a cloak spreading seeds of gold and this Phoenix rose upward sending a network of roots out in all directions. When I went to paint it I knew the background must be red. Sprouts of green and seeds of gold as the Earth forgives again.The original is oil on canvas, 16″ x 20″. Giclée prints are available.
